Former Lens and Chelsea midfielder Gaël Kakuta has signed with Turkish First League side Sakaryaspor — and the club chose an epic way to introduce their new signing.

In a video shared on Sakaryaspor’s official Instagram page, Kakuta is seen in full armor, wielding two swords and a shield bearing the club’s crest. He walks through the ruins of a fortress, scarred by a deadly battle, before placing a golden crown on his head — all in a dramatic homage to the legendary Game of Thrones series.

Kakuta, now with his 14th professional club, has played for teams across seven different countries, including Chelsea and Lens, as well as Vitesse, Rayo Vallecano, and others. Over the course of his career, he has competed in England, France, the Netherlands, Spain, Italy, China, and Iran.

Currently, Sakaryaspor is fighting to avoid relegation, sitting 16th in the Turkish First League table — just one point clear of the drop zone. The club last played in the Turkish Süper Lig in 2006 and has a total of 11 top-flight seasons in its history.
